Condoleeza Joy

Pupil, Nalingangor Primary School

"We are grateful to the government for bringing us electricity. We can now undertake longer study hours and also have access to computers and laptops, which has helped us greatly improved our grammar and expanded our minds interactively."

"I have waited for electricity for a very long time. I’m thrilled that we are finally connected. Getting electricity will help me boost my business in many ways. I can now use my fridge to store my products such as milk and meat for a long time without them getting spoilt. I can also sell cold water and blend fruits for my customers. I want to thank REREC for bringing electricity to our town for it has brought us many benefits; and urge them to continue implementing more projects in this region."

Hussein Abdalla Dohalm

Business Man, Hulugho

"I thank the government for bringing electricity to my people, we have not had electricity since independence. Our schools have been connected to electricity and the community is reaping the benefits. Before we were connected we couldn’t even get information on job opportunities. We had to travel all the way to Marar so that we can apply for jobs at cyber cafes. We now have cyber cafes operating in this area and people have access to the internet. Having electricity has helped us create job opportunities. We are hoping that the unconnected areas within Samburu County are electrified. We are very grateful to the government and REREC for connecting us."

Hon. Lawrence Lornyei

MCA  Nachola ward in Samburu County

"I am a resident of Makueni County, Kibwezi West Constituency at a place called Kwa-Malung’u. Before we were connected to electricity we used to walk for long distances to charge our phones. Getting connected to electricity has brought about business opportunities in this area. I now have a salon, a barbershop and a place where people come to watch football. My friends and I used to walk for long distances to have our hair done. Now, we just meet at my salon. We say a big thank you to the Corporation for connecting us.
